Chateaubriand Fellowship Program Applications are being accepted for the Chateaubriand Fellowship program offered by the Embassy of France. The program offers 10 months of support for PhD students from US institutions to conduct research in France. There are two programs:
Featured External Awards External awards are nationally and internationally competitive fellowships and scholarships for students to help pursue their academic interests or passions in more depth.
Some offer opportunities to pursue research while others may provide funding for graduate education. The program encourages timely completion of the PhD. Applicants must be prepared to complete their dissertations within the period of their fellowship tenure.

October Eligibility Requirements: Must be a PhD candidate in humanities or social science department in the United States. Must have completed all requirements for the PhD except the dissertation i. Must be no more than six years into the degree program at the time of application.
This includes time spent earning an MA within that program. Does not currently hold or have previously held a dissertation completion fellowship. Apply online on the ACLS website.

November Open to U. Open to women scholars in all fields of study. Must be used for the final year of writing the dissertation.
